German Shepherd Training
There are two roles when training a dog:
You must ALWAYS be the leader! By doing this your dog will gain the respect needed to train him properly. Many animals that we know travel in packs. After all, that is a part of who they are. So because people have domesticated dogs we are now part of their pack. That means that we are the “leader” and they are the “follower.” By doing this we gain the animals respect without taking away their pack mentality that they were born with. For more information of training through “pack” leadership, please feel free to contact us. There are basic commands, such as, Sit, Stay, Come, down and heel.
Bite Facts
Currently in the United States there are 65 million dogs. Can you believe it? Just think of how many dogs you know yourself or live in the neighborhood. Chances are that you have a dog! Where there are dogs, there will be dog bites. Dog bites are the 2nd most cause of Emergency Room visits in the United States. There are 800,000 bites per year, in which 1 of 6 of these will require medical attention. Did you know that 368,000 of these bite victims must go to the hospital? That means there are 1,008 dog bites per day! Yikes! The majority of these bites happen at home (61%) with the dog belonging to the victim’s family or friend (77%). That means everyone has a 1 in 50% chance of being bitten.
